Refunds

Paramedic Refresher Students have 28 hours to request a prorated refund as detailed below.

Paramedic Refresher "Student's Right to Cancel"

The student has a right to cancel the enrollment agreement and obtain a refund. The institution shall, for all students, without penalty or obligation, refund 100 percent of the amount paid for the institutional charges, less a reasonable deposit or application fee not to exceed $100.00, if the notice of cancellation is made prior to or on the first day of instruction or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later. Further, the student has the right to withdraw from a course of instruction at any time. A student who has completed 60 percent or less of the course of instruction shall be granted a pro rata refund of tuition and amounts paid for returnable equipment. If the student withdraws from the program of instruction after instruction has begun, the student is obligated to pay only for educational services rendered and any equipment not returned, plus the non-refundable registration fee of $25.00. There will be no refund issued if student fails program or any requisite requirements (ie: background check/drug screening). If the student has received federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a refund of moneys not paid from federal student financial aid program funds. Safety Unlimited, Inc. offering a distance education program where the instruction is not offered in real time shall transmit the first lesson and any materials to students within seven days after the institution accepts the student for admission. The student shall have the right to cancel the agreement and receive a full refund pursuant to section CCR71750 before the first lesson and materials received. Cancellation is effective on the date written notice of cancellation is sent. The institution shall make the refund pursuant to section CCR71750. If the institution sent the first lesson and materials before an effective cancellation notice was received, the institution shall make a refund within 45 days after the student???s return of the materials. An institution shall transmit all of the lessons and other materials to the student if the student has fully paid for the educational program and after having received the first lesson and initial materials, requests in writing that all the materials be sent. If an institute transmits the balance of materials as the student requests, the institution shall remain obligated to provide the other education services it agreed to provide, such as responses to student inquiries, student and faculty interaction, and evaluation and comment on lessons submitted by the student, but shall not be obligated to pay any refund after all of the lessons and materials are transmitted.

The student shall have the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and receive a full refund (minus the application fee) before the first lesson and materials are received. Cancellation is effective on the date the written notice of cancellation is sent. If the effective date of cancellation comes after the first lesson and materials are received, the institution has 45 days after a student???s return of materials to issue an applicable refund.

Hypothetical Refund Example of Paramedic Refresher Course

A student withdraws from the program after completing 5 hours of instruction. $295.00 less $25.00 registration fee and $00.00 STRF assessment fee = $270.00 divided by 48 hours = $5.63 hourly program charge. 5 hours X $5.63 = $28.15. $270.00 less $28.15 = $241.85 refund. This calculation does not include a refund for the books.

If a student chooses to cancel or withdrawal, according to the above stated conditions, he or she must submit a written notice of cancellation to:

Safety Unlimited, Inc.
2139 Tapo Street, Suite 228, Simi Valley, CA 93063

You must pay the state-imposed fee for the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) if all of the following applies to you: (1) you are a student, who is a California resident and prepays all or part of your tuition either by cash, guaranteed student loans, or personal loans; and (2) your total charges are not paid by any third-party payer such as an employer, government program or other payer unless you have a separate agreement to repay the third party. You are not eligible for protection from the STRF and you are not required to pay the STRF fee if either of the following applies: (1) you are not a California resident; and (2) your total charges are paid by a third party, such as an employer, government program, or other payer and you have no separate agreement to repay the third party.

We're excited to announce that this course is now available in HTML 5, making it more compatible with the browser on your mobile device (e.g., smartphone or tablet). This course requires only the most recent version of your mobile device's web browser.

Tablet Pros and Cons

Mobile versions of this sort of training are new, but below are some Pros and Cons that we have noticed during our extensive testing.

Pros

  • No computer needed
  • Tablet mobility
  • Tablet screen graphics

Cons

  • Smartphone screens can be too small to see
  • Mobile browsers react differently than computer browsers
  • Phone calls can interrupt training

During our testing we really noticed that tablets work much better than smartphones, simply due to their screen size.

Growing Pains

Because this is a Beta Version of our course, you may encounter some issues as we work out the kinks.

Your Mobile Browser

While HTML5 makes taking this course on mobile devices possible, not all mobile browsers are optimized for HTML5, meaning you may not have complete functionality. If you have difficulty taking this course using the browser on your mobile device, you may need to use a different browser.

Test the functionality of your browser using HTML5 and compare it to the performance of other browsers. If you find other browsers are more compatible than your own, you may want to make the switch.
